Minot Ledge Light
I call this my fifty year shot because that's how long I tried to capture this photograph before being successful. My challenge was in the timing. The closest land to the lighthouse is still a mile away. When there is a storm strong enough to cause these enormous waves, the light is obscured in rain. On this lucky day a hurricane had moved north into the central Atlantic. Far enough away to prevent the rain, yet windy enough to create the large waves.
